Joseph Campbell

A quilt square stitched for the Hero upon their Journey home.

Excerpts from a 35-page letter to the President.

“Life has bliss!—whether long and drawn out or a split-second’s worth!

But life also includes suffering.  Sometimes, either bliss or suffering can serve as the capstone of one’s thinking and, therefore, affect one's dance through life.  Or through some of the songs we hear.  Melancholic memories and music often emerge when we might feel at our lowest.

Often, one’s suffering is more paramount than one’s bliss. I say, go for your Bliss! The tricky part is that when someone has the power of cognition and governance, they must be truly aware of their role in what transpires. Benevolence is certainly a part of this. Compassion.  Truth and transparency.

We ‘quilt makers’ are here for you—each of us associated with this craft of quilt-making, serving as mentors as you are introduced to the threshold of the world of the “supernatural.”

What is your suffering?  When people shoot arrows at you with defiance and stand up to you?  A Hero will, even eventually, have to learn from this!  Such a hard lesson tells you something.  Something mighty important!

What about your Heart’s Journey?

I conjectured and educated my discoveries about the ‘Faces’ of a Hero.  I did not delve into talk about the Heart chambers of a Hero, but it is now what I will touch on.  This might be added to as a project of its own outside of this work.

You will see that the emphasis of The World’s Journey now focuses on dealing with a buildup of tension, angst, fear, and oppression. How can world leadership help to calm the world for what is to come following this period?

If you believe that God is ‘using’ you for something significant, then you are, in a sense, on the path to Home in your heart.

Are you eager to learn more?

It will not happen as thoroughly through religious rituals but rather through learning about and delving into the spiritual dimensions of your own inner journey.”

Joseph Campbell brings quite pointed questions, but with an undercurrent of true “brotherhood.”

“Are you available to help heal America’s wounds?

If you ask what that would entail—well…

…I am not a man interested in petitioning you for favors.  No, that is not me.  Besides, we live in different worlds. However, I am a man of ideas and experience.  And I loved curtailing the differences and searching for the similarities in the Larger Story of Humanity on Earth, despite the diverse peoples and cultures inhabiting both the Earth and the Spirit world.

To me, this finding is indescribable!

The Veil that separates us is still strong enough to keep the two worlds apart. But some have the opportunity to allow words of wisdom to help us overcome these boundaries and recognize ‘God-ness’ by sharing glimpses of the greatness of life shifts on the horizon—ones that include living with a greater consciousness of both worlds simultaneously.”

And, delivers words of assurance:

“Believe it or not, we wish to serve as allies in your personal Hero’s Journey—for, to us, whether you listen to and accept the encouragements and suggestions we offer will have profound meaning and deeply impact your personal journey's end.

Whether you embrace or recoil at the tones you perceive from the words on the pages as they hit or resonate with you in at least some of your ‘Thousand Faces’ is a factor.

Our intention is not to encourage you to discard this dissertation but rather for it to serve as a wake-up call for the slow movement of your Soul’s dance toward Home.”

In other parts of his quilt square, Joseph Campbell brings home some important realizations of where one’s Hero is:

“Our other intention is for the people of your beloved America and the citizenry of the world to awaken to the idea that, in this time and moment, everyone has an incredible chance to have their own sit-in, just like Rosa Parks.  Today's “bus” has riders from more cultures than ever before. To bring a new humanity, everyone must adopt a stronger and more viable stance.

Jack Kennedy mentioned in one of his discourses that one day, once you arrive in the Spirit world, you might join a Soul group of past presidents and world leaders to do work from this side of the “Veil.” He suggested that based on what you learn and put into place while you are still on Earth, you may help educate the minds and hearts of those who may not yet grasp the dynamics of this world—the tools for which will be available to you once you complete your earthly life.

…like the Souls who have gathered to “speak” in this way and who wish to be of service to you through our words. This is one way we hope to connect with you and reach Americans and world citizens—even if it takes time!

The hero is within, my friend.

I, Joseph Campbell, am no longer bound to the earth’s insistence on time and place.  There is freedom here like you cannot believe.  But then, I am not personally affected by your decrees in physical form.

I had no illusions that when I was on earth, I could not see the face of God but in every person.

Was it always easy?  Heavens, No!

And so, I say as my quilt piece, “squarely” to you:

I do see the face of “God” in Donald Trump.  Why?  Because I can see more of the Real You—your Soul. I am unlike your followers or ‘Yes staffers,’ who see or regard you as a god or demi-god and treat you with kid gloves but might secretly be terrified by many of your declarations or their imminent dismissal by you.

How?  I will tell you that from here, I perceive a likeness of the Real You—that divine particle of God you are—not just the outward appearance and reflection of your position in the Oval Office.

The one behind the doors you close off yourself to the world.   The very one you find hard to face.”

In a turn of the famous phrase he used to teach and write about, there is a part of Joseph’s dissertation that has a fresh, new idea:

“Just as every Hero has a journey, every Journey has a Hero.

You are much like other people. As most people share far more in common than the differences promoted by elitists or titles, regardless of the size of one’s monetary wealth. Value is not determined by numbers counted in polls that focus on popularity. Furthermore, ‘winning’ and ‘losing’ are terms open to interpretation depending on the given situation.

There are—”

(He listed of many of the Journeys of life which needs a ‘hero.’)

He then brings home an important aspect of the writing of this compendium:

“How many former presidents could claim to have experienced such a gathering of deceased individuals who came to assist them in such a dramatic way? To assist their presidential tasks with much-needed future vision within realistic parameters, as we are attempting.

Surely, there was help afforded to presidents and their First Ladies if and when it could be sensed, but this is a unique historical ‘visitation’ on paper that we hope you do not take lightly or dismiss.”
